From your link above

When taking in to consideration the money spent on players and themoney recouped, there is a difference of just £24.2 million betweenUnited and Liverpool since the summer of 2004.
The season before Benitez took over, Liverpool were fourth in theleague. United finished just one place above them that season.
Liverpool trophies since summer of 2004: 1 Champions League, 1 FA Cup,
Manchester United trophies since summer of 2004: 2 Premiership titles, 1 Champions League, 1 League Cup.

So, there is a difference of just £24.2 million, an average of just£6 million a season, and Benitez wants to know how he is supposed tocompete with United? The diffence in spending between United andChelsea was far greater in the years leading up to our title win in2007, with Abramovich splashing his cash at a rate United simplycouldn’t compete with. That didn’t stop us from competing with them forhonours though.
6 million on average more per season mate?

leave the tevez deal out of htis he is with us for another 4 months if we choose to pay the 17 mil more for him that will be on a 5 year contract. it has not been done yet so lets stop talking about that.
Dont call the guy bias those are ALL our signings youth, reserve and first team.

By the way, did you hear SAF complain about the amount of money chelsea spent and that he cant compete with them because of their spending power. No.

Im not complaining, im just telling you that we closing on you with spending less. How great is that? And do you honestly think that rafa will need to spend as much in his 2nd 5 seasons then he did in his first. SAF did add ons mate, hes been building for 2 decades. He had the team he wanted when rafa was still at valencia. What part of this dont you understand? Considering how far we were behind you, we were expected to spend way more than you if we wanted to catch up. But thats not the case, its more the other way around. And i dont believe that that is all your signings, but i wont get into that now it'll take time and i dont have it! Shame what you guys are gonna do without fergie... Shame!!

ADDONS Please look at our team and tell me how many players were in our squad pre benitez.
When fergie leaves it will be a sad time for Footbll in general, but he will leave the club in good hands that you can be assured of.

All worked out except he didnt even think of these players below but included every liverpool youth player:

Rossi
Pique
Manucho
Possebon
Richie De Laet
Davide Perrucci
Tevez (10mill loan)

All of a sudden its doesnt look like 24.2 mill now does is it? It looks like 50 mill more than rafa spend without taking into account what you'll spend on tevez or his replacement, then and you and your fellow united fans have the nerve to say rafa and fergie have spent similar funds? ridiculous!  Not even close, imagine what we could buy for 40 or 50!! Regarless, like i said before, fergie had his foundation already, rafa never really! Rafa was the one that was suppose to be spending more to close the gap. And still with less spending his closed in on united and chelsea (2 super powers in europe when we werent even regarded as a top champions league team). Why cant you just take your hat off to that? I'll tell you, complete biasness. You cant see anything else but united!

Rossi (took over contract)
Pique (didnt pay fuckall)
Manucho (didnt Pay)
Possebon (Again fuckall paid)
Richie De Laet ( The fee to be paid by Manchester United will depend on De Laet's performances for the club. so in other words nothing yet, maybe 3 or four pence hehe)
Davide Perrucci (compensation deal round about 200 000)
Tevez (10mill loan) (from the BBC your favorite website Any permanent deal could see Manchester United pay around £25m.) so we have paid 10 and got 15 to more to pay to secure him on a 5 year deal)

Please do research before posting as we need fact not speculation.

So taking this into account there is 10200000 more ok lets say 2 mill more per season to 8 million on average. And we have rehashed our team as much as you have, we have a few players left from the pre benitez era ( a question you have failed to answer) Fact is bud that we have spent 8 mill per season more than you and we have a bigger first team squad, we have 3 WORLD CLASS strikers in our team, you have one. We have the best Defense with a shit load of depth. Yes agreed we have spent sightly more in footy terms per season than you but look what  have brought in

Tosic (£17m)
Berbatov (£30.75m)
Nani (£17m)
Hargreaves (£17m)
Anderson (£18m)
Kuzczak (£2.5m)
Carrick (£18.6m)
Foster (£1m)
Vidic (£7m)
Evra (£5.5m)
Park (£4m)
Van der Sar (£2.5m)
Rooney (£30m)

These players are in our first team look at the list of mediocre players you brought in. Please there is no comparison between the money well spent by SAF and the large sum of wasted money spent by Benitez.

I have to agree Fergie has bought a couple of shockers but no1 beats Rafa at buying average players.....look at this season Dossena & Degan - he has improved tho ill give him that but i def think he has bought a lot of rubbish when he could have been putting the money from 3 avergae players into one sick player!

Fuck me you paid 17m for this Tosic? he must be sick....?

Some big football coming up fella's!! Nice to see for me as a neutral the likes of Real and Inter hitting top form for Pool and United, CL clashes are gonna be special!! Also CC final next week Napa...must admit i really cant see us winning - if we had particularly King back with Defoe and were hitting top form id def say we have a decent chance...but it aint looking good! You never know tho maybe Palacios just destroys your center mid and allows Modric to control it...haha thats if fucken 'arry plays the team right!

He has bought a few shockers i will admit. I have admitted, but i like the way he accepts it. Most of them he sells again and doesnt really make big losses. I think he knows when his made a mistake in the transfer window (bar lucas and kuyt) which is good. Now he must know when he makes mistakes during games, this is his biggest problem as we all know. Dont forget we got Degen on a free and he's been very unlucky with injuries its unbelievable that i've hardly seen him play for us! But one thing that i cant agree with is a comparison with the two manager in terms of spending over the past four seasons. Fergie has build his foundation over the past 20 years. Rafa has had 4 or 5. I dont see him making the same type of signings over the next 5 years now that hes built a team to challenge. And one thing i'd like to see is Rafas signings when he has the transfer power that fergie, o'neil and wenger have... I'm not making excuses of his signings because i think the squad we've got justifies his nett spending but let him have full control over transfers and i believe we'll see a different story.

Yeah ill def. give u all that like i say he improves more and more every season...transfers havent been his biggest problem for me of late...his team selections at times are far more worrying!! Fuck the transfers actually who gives a fuck as long as the team a manager is putting out is doing the job? You guys will go in circles and circles bout who has done better in the market...forget it. Just ask us Spurs fans about being mugs in the market - 16mil for Bent what an absolute fucken joke!!

Ye i know u didnt pay for Degen but still doggy my point has fuck all to do with money actually just purely what player is coming in and IMO i doubt he will ever be a world class right back...maybe im wrong but he wont even get in ahead of Arbeloa?

I think these days its  if the player fits into the system. Not how good and what value you can get him at. Fergie picked out carrick, paid alot of money, but its working. Same with a lot of other players

superstar - moderator
479 posts

Yeah buddy but Carrick was always quality he would have fitted in anywhere trust me i watched him closely at Spurs..what a player! Sure you can buy players who will fit in, Benitez does seem to be good at that BUT im not convinced they will make u one of the best!

superstar - moderator

We not far off of been one of the best. Like i said IMO we have closed the gap on united and chelsea over the psat 3 seasons. Our position in the league at this time of the season proves that.
I believe carrick is quality but at the time was a lot money spent on him. Now i'd say he's worth it. But never then.

Ok my bad what i meant to say was THE best not one of cos that u obviously are...
